BRITAIN’S Got Talent’s Stavros Flatley, S Club Party and singer Lemar were the main acts headlining this year’s Dartford Festival.

Crowds flocked in their thousands to the two-day event at Central Park to also enjoy tribute acts to Michael Jackson, Take That, Duffy and Girls Aloud.

As well as the main stage, the exhibition marquee included displays from Dartford Museum, Dartford District Archaeological Group, Dartford Art Group, Dartford Beekeepers and Crayford Manor House Astronomical Society.

Petwise Zoo also came along with their mobile menagerie of ferrets, parrots, lizards and snakes.

There were action packed fun and games that included everything from an army assault course and quad biking to an inflatable football pitch brought along by Charlton Athletic.

Dartford Council leader Jeremy Kite says this year’s festival, attended by 45,000, was the biggest since it first started six years ago.

He said: “It was terrific, the festival is by far the best free festival in the south east.

“The main stage used to be no bigger than a garden gazebo, I’m delighted with the way it’s grown.”
