NURSERY and primary school children in the area have the chance to be full of beans this summer.
Morrisons is giving more than one million kids the chance to take home a bean planting kit so they can take part in the Big Bean Challenge.
The challenge is part of the supermarket’s second year of its ‘Lets Grow’ scheme, which encourages children to grow and eat their own veg.
Parents can send in updates of the plants progress, contributing to the giant virtual beanstalk and youngsters can win great prizes for their families and their schools as part of the great prize draw.
Celebrity gardener, Dairmuid Gavin, said: “Growing beans is a great way to keep children growing their own veg during the summer, and it’s a really fun thing to do – they shoot up so quickly you can check their progress every day.”
