Well it certainly is a funny old day when I find myself in total support of a Labour minister, but today I find myself agreeing wholeheartedly with the Home Secretary, Alan Johnson.
What has brought about this strange state of affairs, I hear you ask? Well it’s the MI5 torture inquiry of course! Alan Johnson has said that the MI5 torture inquiry puts us all at risk and jeopardises national security. He adds that we have one of the best counter-terrorism capabilities in the world and we diminish and dilute it at our peril.
Alan Johnson is, of course, 100% correct and, bizarre as it is for a Labour minister to talk sense, he must be applauded.
Of course the enemies that would harm us and their supporters will no doubt object to his wise words, which is merely evidence that he is right.
