FLAMES rose 10 metres into the air as a wood fire got out of control in Leaves Green last night (July 16).
Leaseholders of a farm in Blackness Lane had been burning 10 tonnes of trees which they had cleared from the area.
But the large smoke plume became a nuisance for surrounding properties at around 9.30pm.
Firefighters from Biggin Hill and Orpington were called and managed to stop the fire spreading to nearby disused chicken sheds.
They had the blaze under control by 10.20pm and left the farm at around midnight.
