LIGHTNING struck twice at 11.30pm in north Kent last night.
A house in Leech Croft, Swanley, and a house in Beaumont Drive, Northfleet, were both struck at around the same time.
Firefighters said the hit in Swanley caused a small fire on the roof, but it blew out quickly, and there was only mininal damage to the guttering and sockets inside the house.
However, the hit in Northfleet caused more severe damage, with firefighters tackling a blaze around the chimney and in the kitchen for almost three hours.
A firefighter on the scene said the kitchen and chimney were destroyed.
Nobody was injured in either incident.
