Bluewater has launched a free mobility scooter service for disabled shoppers.
There are now 18 electric scooters available an the UK Mobility facility in the yellow welcome hall on the ground floor of the Thames Walk section of the shopping centre.
Their introduction is the result of work with associations for disabled people, such as the North Kent Advocacy Group, to look into ways to make Bluewater more accessible.
Andrew Parkinson, the centre’s general manager, said: “Key to Bluewater’s success as a unique day-out destination is meeting the individual needs of all of our guests.
“The free scooter service is a direct outcome of this philosophy.”
