FOUR teenagers have been sent to a young offenders’ institution and another four received referral orders after a fight in Bexleyheath Broadway.
The incident took place in February this year, when they were caught on CCTV attacking a small group of other boys.
CCTV footage showed three victims being pushed, kicked and beaten.
One of the victims was separated from his friends, then punched in the face and pushed to the floor, where he continued to be attacked.
None of the victims complained to police or ever came forward.
But, the footage was passed by the council’s CCTV control room staff to Christchurch Safer Neighbourhood policing team, who identified those involved.
All admitted affray at Bexley Youth Court.
A 16-year-old from Erith was sentenced to eight months at a young offenders’ institution.
Another16-year-old from Eltham together with two15-year-olds from Belvedere and Abbey Wood were sentenced to six months at a young offenders’ institution.
Nine-month referral orders were given to three teenagers aged 14, 15 and 16 from Erith and another 16-year-old from Erith received a six month referral order.
One other youth received a caution.
