THREE people had to be freed from their cars after a head-on collision near Pratts Bottom.
According to police, the crash happened at 2.57pm today (July 15) on the A21 near Rushmore Hill.
A grey BMW and a turquoise Rover coupe collided after police say one of the vehicles crossed over the road into oncoming traffic.
Witnesses say a teenager was driving the Rover, while a couple in their 50s were travelling in the BMW.
Police, fire and ambulance crews were called and it is understood the younger driver has been taken to hospital via air ambulance with a head injury.
One resident living nearby said: "I have lived here 59 years and have seen so many accidents.
"It is always on this stretch and I wouldn't like to guess why."
Firefighters were forced to cut the the roof off the Rover to free the driver.
The road was closed between Pratts Bottom roundabout and Hewitts roundabout and a diversion was in place in Green Street Green.
The road reopened at around 4.30pm but the A21 remains partially blocked southbound.
