Hexara's AGM recently took place and once again it was far from a boring meeting.
Our chairman, Terry Chapman, made sure there was plenty of light-hearted banter and made a point of thanking all the committee members for their hard work in making our club so popular.
There was one change on the committee when the secretary stood down, having completed two very successful and hard-working years.
However, the post was swiftly filled (with a little bit of gentle persuasion) by a current committee member who has also had a great input into Hexara for more than two years by organising all the successful monthly lunches partaken by members.
His wife will now be taking on that important job – a good lunch each month is an essential part of the enjoyment of Hexara.
Several members had a splendid evening recently at the Geoffrey Whitworth theatre to see The Full Monty and on the sporting front we now have golf on the agenda as well as darts.
It seems there are no sporting activities which Hexara members are not prepared to have a go at.
A local treasure hunt followed by cream tea and tea on the terrace at the Houses of Parliament will both be eagerly awaited before the next meeting.
It is hoped the sun will shine.
