YOUNGSTERS have enjoyed learning about Poland at a book workshop.
Polish author Anna Mycek-Wodecki held the workshop at St Philomena’s Primary School, in Chelsfield Road, Orpington, as part of the ‘Reading Round the World’ programme.
The programme is made up of workshops and events with the aim of bringing books from around the world to children in the UK.
During the workshop, which took place on July 1, the author was using her latest book, Minutka: The Bilingual Dog and Friends, to help teach the children Polish.
The activities included naming the dog’s body parts in both English and Polish, drawing their own version of the dog and using their drawing to tell everyone about their language and other languages they know.
