A CONSTRUCTION worker has appeared in court charged with manslaughter after the death of a dumper truck driver.
Officers from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) launched an investigation after a fatal accident involving Mark Wilkin, of Longfield Road, Meopham.
The 45-year-old died after his truck plunged into a lake off Salt Lane, Cliffe, on December 5, 2007.
Edward Day, of Longfield Road, Longfield, appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday (July 13) and his case was adjourned until September 14.
The 53-year-old, who traded under the name of E J Construction, was charged with manslaughter last month. He also faces two health and safety allegations.
