YOUNG book worms have voted for their favourite book - and decided to back a story about a rescue greyhound.
Michael Morpurgo’s Born to Run was named the best book at the 2009 Bromley Children’s Book Awards ceremony, nicknamed the Broscars.
Members of the library service’s 16 young reading groups have been reading and voting for one of 10 titles since January.
Senior librarian for children’s services Kate Farmer said: “It’s thrilling to see young people so fired up about books and open to new reading experiences.
“This is what libraries are all about.”
All of the books on the awards list are available from the borough’s libraries, alongside details of reading groups for youngsters.
