TWO regeneration schemes have been given a £32m boost by the Government.
Around £30m has been allocated to the first phase of the Kidbrooke regeneration where 456 new homes are being built.
The funds came from the Homes and Communities Agency, the housing and regeneration agency for England.
It had already allocated around £45m to fund masterplanning, demolition and infrastructure works as part of the regeneration.
And £2m more will go towards new housing on the Greenwich Peninsula as part of a 229-home development.
Leader of Greenwich Council Councillor Chris Roberts said: “Both Kidbrooke and Greenwich Peninsula are set to develop as flourishing new urban districts, and the funding will help ensure that both schemes are able to make a substantial contribution to the housing needs of Londoners."
Proposals for phase two of the Kidbrooke plans went on show last week and a planning application is due to be submitted to Greenwich Council this autumn.
