A MAN from Sidcup was among seven people arrested when police swooped on a gang suspected of drug trafficking.
Officers from the Met Police’s special projects team joined colleagues from HM Revenue and Customs and the UK Border Agency to arrest a 43-year-old man and a woman, aged 27, as they brought their boat into Dover harbour on June 28.
The boat was found to be loaded with 25 kilos of cannabis.
They then launched a series of other arrests of people, also suspected of drug trafficking, at their home addresses.
These included a 55-year-old Sidcup man, two men aged 44 and 22 from Meopham and a 59-year-old man from Swanley.
Also arrested in Dover, was a 50-year-old customs officer.
All the suspects were taken to Lewisham police station and all were subsequently bailed to return to the police station in September and October.
