TWO people who made contact through a twins parenting website will meet for the first time, at a charity run.
Alan Whittington, 43, from Bexleyheath, and Cassandra Aitchison, 29, from Felixstowe, began exchanging parenting tips five years ago.
Then last year Mr Whittington was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and Mrs Aitchison has been supporting him as he struggled to get his condition under control.
Mr Whittington has since dropped three stones in weight and now he and his cyber friend will meet face-to-face for the first time on Sunday (July 12), when they run together in the British 10k London Run, in support of Diabetes UK.
Mr Whittington’s wife Claire and twins George and Jessica, aged four, have also been urging him on.
He said: “The twins even run on the spot next to me when I am on the treadmill.”
He added: “I look forward to finally meeting up with Cassandra to thank her in person for all the support she gave me.”
Mr Whittington says he hopes to take on the London Marathon next.
