AN INFORMATION evening is being held to try and recruit more foster carers in the borough.
Children’s charity Action for Children (AFC) will be at the Bromley Court Hotel, Bromley Hill, Bromley, on Monday (July 20) to explain what fostering involves.
It is coming to the borough because it says there is a shortage of 10,000 foster carers in the United Kingdom.
AFC spokesman Kevin White said: “Action for Children is looking for people who have energy, patience, resilience and understanding to step forward and open up their lives to help vulnerable young people.“
“Our current foster carers come from all walks of life; age and marital status is not important.
"The challenges are great, but so are the personal rewards.
"The carers I’ve talked to say they get a wonderful sense of satisfaction at seeing a young person start to blossom and fulfil their potential.”
The event at the hotel in Bromley Hill, Bromley, runs from 7.30pm to 9pm on July 20.
Call the foster team on 020 8534 9468 for more information.
