STUDENTS from Orpington College have had the chance to transport the torch from the first London Olympics.
The torch, which was from the 1948 Olympics, was transported by sports students at the college, who collected it from St Olave's and St Saviour's Grammar School in Goddington Lane, Orpington, and then ran it back to the college.
It was then passed onto Blenheim Primary School in Blenheim Road, Orpington.
Each school and college which received the torch were given a country to represent, and the college represented Cuba.
There was Cuban food, music, costumes and decorations for students, staff, and members of the public to enjoy.
Sports co-ordinator at the college Mark Bushnell said: "We believe in raising awareness of healthy living and keeping active and were proud to promote this scheme to our students and people in the area."
