AT OUR June meeting Angela Verrells displayed a wide range of fans from her collection.
They were enhanced by a fascinating talk as to their history and the materials used for these attractive creations which accompanied the fashions throughout the eras.
While fans were instigated to keep one cool, they were also demurely fluttered to attract a suitor.
As a fashion accessory one saw the decline when the debutantes ceased to carry their white ostrich feather fan at their Coming Out Ball.
Members enjoyed viewing the exhibits at the conclusion of an excellent presentation.
Our next meeting will be at 7.45pm on Wednesday, July 22 at the Rosary Catholic Church Hall when Alan Payne will be speaking about What’s on the Cards.
