I did it

In spite of all the revelations about politicians expenses over the last month – and the corruption that is even more rife in the Euro-parliament - I went and voted in last night’s European elections.

I know that politicians are all corrupt and self-serving but, when push came to shove, I just couldn’t withhold my vote.

And the reason? Hope. Deep down inside of me there’s a flicker of hope that there are some decent people out there – people who really do believe in the job description of ‘representing the people’.
