IF YOU are looking for a game for the kids which they will really enjoy, is educational and is sturdy enough to last for more than a few minutes, you could do a lot worse than buy Cadoo, the junior version of best-selling Cranium.
For two or more children aged seven and over, the game gets the players thinking, acting, puzzle solving, sketching and sculpting. It also has a secret decode giving the solutions to some questions, which most kids will love and helps prevent cheating!
The game takes about five minutes to learn and 30 minutes to play. The goal is to successfully complete tasks, which are printed on decks of cards, and get four tokens in a row on the board to win.
Some of the tasks are done solo and others in pairs, with combo cards. If players get a solo question right, they put their token on the space of their choice. If they get a combo card right, both players get to put a token on the board.
What makes it so fun is, like Cranium, all the questions and tasks are cleverly designed to be just the right difficulty level for the target audience and are also great fun.
Cranium Cadoo includes the game board, a secret decoder mask, a tub of modelling clay, 300 game cards, 40 colourful tokens, a six-sided Cadoo die, a timer, rules, pads and pencils and comes in a grab-and-go box with a handle on top. And the way everything fits together neatly in the packaging is as well thought out as the game itself.
