Sainsbury's at Locksbottom is inviting people to nominate a local charity to be the store's official charity partner for the year.
The selected charity will benefit through working in partnership with Sainbury's colleagues to organise fundraising events, including charity collections.
Colleagues will also support the chosen charity through volunteering.
Residents can nominate a local charity before May 26 by completing a nomination form and submitting it into the Local Charity of the Year voting box found at the front of the store.
Sainsbury's will draw up a shortlist from all nominations submitted.
Representatives from the three shortlisted charities will be asked to visit the store to talk to colleagues about what they do and how the Sainsbury's team could support them.
The store's local charity of the year will be chosen from the shortlist and announced to customers in June.
Store manager Elliot Pilcher said: "By supporting a local charity we can give back to the community by helping with fundraising and volunteering.
"Clearly it's important that we find a charity that is close to the hearts and minds of our customers and colleagues so I would encourage everyone to come into store and vote."
