Walking the way to health is the national body promoting and setting the standards for health walks led by volunteers.
The body encourages people to be more active in order prevent to wide range of diseases.
Walks for health are free, accessible and give people an opportunity to meet other people and to lose weight. Walking also helps to build stamina and improves mental health.
On May 7 at Community House in Bromley there was a training day for volunteers who want to become walk leaders. The trainer was 31 year old Harriet Murrell. Fifteen volunteers spent an interesting day and tried a 45 minutes walk. All the volunteers received certificate of attendance.
I was there as well and I will be helping the PCT in London Borough of Greenwich.
