I had an absolutely wonderful time last night- all thanks to my lovely family and 2-for-1 deals.

I'm not foolish enough to think that companies are offering to sell you an item and give another for free out of the kindness of their hearts, I know it's just a ploy to lure in more customers, particularly on quiet Wednesday nights.

But I just want to say 'thank you' to them for their cunning promotional offers.

And I want to say thank you to the three members of my family who offered to take me as their fourth member, to fully benefit from their 2-for-1 vouchers.

Clearly it would have been a waste of free stuff not to take a fourth person and I'm glad they picked me.

(Ok, it may be because I invited myself, but I'm sure they appreciated my company.)

We went to the 02 and my sister and I enjoyed our meals for free- woohoo- thanks to the vouchers my mum found on the internet for Zizzis.

And then, comfortably full, we sauntered along to the cinema to watch The Young Victoria- again for free thanks to Orange Wednesdays.

I can't tell you how nice it was going out.

I've been sitting at home watching so much TV recently, it was a real treat!
