THE club's February meeting was certainly thought provoking.
Members listened to a talk from Margaret Phillips on The Challenge of Leprosy.
Margaret,an occupational therapist, explained how she worked for a leprosy mission in Africa for 20 years. She was there helping to eradicate a disease which carries more stigma than Aids.
Her talk was supported by slides and members learned how in a few weeks a child could be cured of a potentially disfiguring disease.
The meeting continued with reminders of activities on offer to members - craft days, IT training, theatre trips and more.
The club's next meeting is on March 10 at the Memorial Hall, Lewis Road at 7.30pm.
The speaker is Christine Pope and her subject is Stained Glass.
The spring show is also being held that evening. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
