For six students of Hayes School’s sixth form this year’s Children in Need campaign meant a lot more than usual.
Natalie Faulkner, Jenna Lomax, Rebecca Lake, Sarah Perryman, Jennifer Mahoney and Grace Perry all supported each other in carrying out a 24-hour fast to aid the Children in Need event.
The girls lasted an entire day without food, relying on water and their sense of humour.
Jenna said: “It did get hard towards the end. The last hour went really slowly! But it was the thought that what we were doing was for a good cause that really pushed us to finish!
“When I watched the show it meant so much to know that we raised over £400 of the money that just kept rolling in! I’m glad to have made a difference.” The girls raised an impressive £450 for the charity.
