PLANS to build around 60 houses and an office block have been given the go-ahead.
Last Thursday (November 6) Dartford Council’s development control board gave developer J Clubb Ltd outline permission to build the development on land to the west of Darenth Road in Darenth.
The council had received 12 letters of objection to the plans from local residents, who were against building on green space.
Frederick Watts, of Darenth Road, wrote: “I feel my property and standard of living is under siege. I have lived here for over 40 years and now fear that this lovely rural part of Dartford will soon exist no longer.”
The houses will be built in three areas and the office block will be up to three-storeys high, providing around 650 full time jobs.
J Clubb Ltd refused to comment on when construction will begin or residents objections.
