AN ADVOCACY group which supports victims of domestic violence is getting £115,000 so it can continue until 2010.
The Domestic Abuse Advocacy project has been running since last year and has now been granted more funding at an Executive meeting at Bromley Council on November 3.
The service was deemed necessary as victims of domestic abuse are often too scared or vulnerable to agree to press charges or give evidence in court.
Advocates give one-on-one help to victims before and after court cases.
Portfolio holder for public protection and safety, Councillor Colin Bloom said: “We have a zero tolerance approach to domestic violence.
“We want victims to get the support they need.”
If you are affected by this issue call the Bromley domestic abuse hotline on 0208 313 4290 or text 07963 479 602.
