A 16-YEAR-OLD was arrested in a dawn raid today in connection with the killing of Shakilus Townsend.
Shakilus, 16, of Tanners Hill, Deptford, was stabbed and beaten to death with baseball bats after being lured to Beulah Crescent, Thornton Heath, on July 3.
The boy, known to his family as 'Shaki', was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting, where he underwent five hours of surgery before dying of complications just after midnight on July 4.
Tyrell Ellis, aged 18, of Thornton Heath, two 17-year-old boys, two 16-year-old boys, and a 15-year-old girl have all appeared before magistrates charged with his murder.
At 6.20am today officers swooped on a property in Thornton Heath.
They arrested the teen, bringing the amount of people arrested in connection with Shakilus’s death to a total of seven.
The teen will be interviewed by detectives from the Met’s Murder and Investigation Team.
