DICKENS fans will be able to find out what its like to be Ebenezer Scrooge when he visits a library.
Gravesend-born Martin Harris has been playing Scrooge in The Great Dickens Christmas Fair in San Francisco for 10 years.
The 61-year-old will describe the experience at Higham Library in Villa Road at 8pm on Wednesday (November 12).
Mr Harris, who now lives in White Hill Road, Gravesend, after spending 25 years performing on stage and screen in California, will be in full Scrooge costume as he talks to the library audience.
He said: “I will be discussing the Dickens fair and its history, and where is more appropriate to do so than Higham, where the great man lived.”
The fair runs from November 28 to December 21 and is now in its 30th year.
It sees 100,000 square feet of exhibition halls in San Franscisco transformed into a Victorian town, with actors playing Dickens characters. For details go to dickensfair.com
