A FORMER-paratrooper-turned-singer from Bexley is hoping a new album of songs will raise cash for wounded servicemen and women and their families.
Keith Kingham, 51, of Lodge Lane, Bexley, launched his Sing Out! For Wounded Warriors CD at Peter Stringfellow’s Angels club in central London on October 22.
Mr Kingham, who left the Parachute Regiment in 1982, and now runs his own security company, has also built a reputation as a professional singer.
In August this year, Mr Kingham climbed Britain’s three highest peaks — Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon — on behalf of the British Limbless Ex-Servicemen’s Association (BLESMA) and sang a suitable song at the top of each.
He has also sung in New York for the same cause.
This time he combined his efforts with songwriter Tim Spencer to record nine tracks, some of which he sang live at the launch.
Mr Kingham said: “After being in the Army myself, this is a way of giving something back.
“And we are hoping this year’s event will become an annual one to fundraise for BLESMA.”
