BEXLEY youngsters have been taking Irish dancing to new heights.
One dance school swept the board in a Kent competition and joined another Bexley school to compete in the British championships.
Dancers from the Linda Fryday Academy, based at Freemantle Hall in Bexley Village High Street, took part in both the Kent Dance Challenge 2008 and the Great British Irish dance championships in the past three weeks.
They were judged overall Kent champions and picked up £1,000 in prize money after winning six different categories in the under-13 and 14-and-over classes at the competition held in Maidstone.
At the British championships the school picked up a first and second place and won this year’s Barcelona International Grande Pre.
Dancers are now hoping to compete in the television show, Britain’s Got Talent.
Also competing in the British championships was Hackett School of Irish Dancing.
