YOUNGSTERS have sent a lorry load of donations to an orphanage in Romania.
Each of the 400 pupils at Green Street Green Primary School filled a shoe box with items ranging from toiletries, shampoo, tooth brushes and tooth paste to pencils and new clothes.
The school in Vine Road, Green Street Green managed to pack a lorry with 140 boxes which set off on a cross country journey to Comanesti in Romania.
Sharon Bond, the school’s inclusion leader who helped organise the boxes, said: “The children were very eager to get involved.
“It brings it home that these children in Romania, a country in Europe, don’t have anything.”
