TWO men were injured when a car hit a tree in Orpington this morning.
The 35-year-old driver of a Vauxhall Calibra had to be cut free after his car left the road and crashed into a tree in Chelsfield Lane at 6.12am today (November 6).
A passenger, thought to be in his late 20s, escaped from the vehicle before the fire service arrived.
Both men were taken to hospital by ambulance.
Busy night for Blue watch
The crash came at the end of a busy night for firefighters in Orpington.
At 7.30pm and 8.15pm yesterday Blue watch were called to seperate fires lit in paper recycling banks in Charterhourse Road.
Then at about 2am they were called to a car fire in St Peter’s Lane in St Paul’s Cray.
An hour later a second car alight was reported near Blacksmiths Lane in St Mary Cray.
And at 5am firefighters had to deal with a small fire in a hoarding beside a derelict tower block in Mountfield Way, St Mary Cray.
