A TENNIS club has put forward an application for two outdoor swimming pools and extra tennis courts despite objections from residents about increased noise during the summer months.
Amida Racquets and Fitness Spa in Stanhope Grove, Beckenham, has made an application to planning bosses at Bromley Council for two open-air swimming pools in place of an existing double tennis court.
The centre, now run by David Lloyd Leisure, then plans to install four tennis courts elsewhere on the site.
The additional courts would then allow the club to promote a children’s training facility with the Lawn Tennis Association.
But a report into the development says that residents are unhappy about the “increased noise and disturbance” and the “increased level of traffic and on-street parking on Stanhope Grove resulting from increased facilities at the club”.
Bromley Council are expected to approve the development at a meeting on Tuesday. (November 11).
