EIGHT youngsters have become ambassadors for the Olympics.
The Young Ambassadors will spread the word about the London Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012 to primary school pupils across Greenwich.
Each of the youngsters, appointed by Greenwich Council, will have to put on an event of their own during a school term.
It could be a sporting event, taking a primary school assembly on the Olympics or any other idea they come up with.
Sabine Esiannayi, 16, from Kidbrooke School, Corelli Road, Blackheath, wants to put on a mini-heptathlon event for children.
She said: “Young children hear about the heptathlon but how many of them know exactly what it is? By holding an event they will not only enjoy taking part but also gain some knowledge.”
