AN AIRPORT has opened its doors to the public for the first time.
London Biggin Hill Airport treated more than 400 people to a behind the scenes tour where they were able to meet management and go on a 40-minute coach drive around the grounds.
Visitors were given a glimpse of a Spitfire as well as an opportunity to see some of the businesses based at the airport and some of the world’s most advanced private jets.
Airport managing director Peter Lonergan said: “The majority of residents thoroughly enjoyed the experience and we received some extremely positive feedback.
“We understand that many people are interested in what goes on here at Biggin Hill and these behind the scenes open days provided the perfect opportunity to come and see it for themselves.”
