FIREFIGHTERS tackled a series of car fires across the borough of Greenwich overnight.
A Ford Escort was completely destroyed by flames at around 11.50pm last night (November 3).
It took a crew from Woolwich fire station 30 minutes to deal with the incident in Plum Lane, Plumstead.
Two fires within 20 minutes kept a Plumstead crew busy between 3.20am and 3.45am this morning.
They were called to reports of a Fiat Brava’s engine being on fire in Brookhill Road, Woolwich, at 3.20am.
It took them around 15 minutes to put out the flames which also caused smoke damage to the inside of the vehicle.
The crew then rushed to nearby Connaught Road where rubbish was alight next to a Ford Fiesta at around 3.35am.
They managed to put the fire out before it could do any damage to the vehicle.
Crews from Woolwich and East Greenwich were called to Glenalvon Way, Woolwich, at around 5.50am to reports of a car which had been crashed into a garage before being set on fire.
The Ford Escort was completely destroyed by fire and the building was partly damaged.
Details of the incidents have been passed to the police for investigation.
