BOY band JLS are overjoyed at their continued success in TV talent contest The X Factor and have topped the charts with a single in aid of wounded soldiers.
JLS are competing against seven remaining acts in ITV1’s The X Factor and are celebrating after the charity single Hero reached number one on Sunday (November 2).
The single, which has sold more than 300,000 copies, is a collaboration between all the show’s 12 finalists and all profits will go to wounded soldiers charity Help For Heroes.
Eldest of the four JLS band members Marvin Humes, of Herbert Road, Woolwich, says he is overwhelmed by the success of the single.
The 23-year-old said: “It’s absolutely incredible. It’s apparently the fastest selling single of the decade.
“As part of the single’s promotion we went to a rehabilitation centre for wounded soldiers and we have met some incredibly brave people.
“It was a very humbling experience and is a fantastic cause to support.”
Watch JLS perform live again on ITV1, Saturday, at 7.20pm.
