A 51-YEAR-OLD man was run over by his own car after it was stolen from his home.
Steve Butcher was returning home from the shops in his son's car at 8.30pm on October 26 when he spotted his BMW being driven from his home's car park in Woodhill, Woolwich.
The married father-of-three jumped out of the car and ran towards his vehicle before realising the thieves were driving straight towards him.
Mr Butcher, who works as a lorry driver, explained: "I couldn't believe it. I saw my car and suddenly realised it was moving.
"I jumped out to take a closer look but it came straight at me.
"I tried to move out of the way but it hit me on my left side, throwing me to the floor.
"I was left with cuts, bruises and grazes up my side and I have a swollen ankle and a swollen wrist."
He added: "It all happened so quickly. I caught a glimpse through the windscreen and saw there were two men inside."
A spokesman for Greenwich police said: "We can confirm that we are currently investigating a serious aggravated incident of taking and driving away."
