A DOTING fiance has paid tribute to the love of his life who died along with the driver in a car crash last week.
Charlotte Simpson died after the Fiat Punto she was travelling in with four others collided with a bus in Corkscrew Hill, West Wickham on October 25.
Her fiance, 25-year-old Alan Hooley has been speaking about his loss.
The painter and decorator said: “She was always there for me, always by my side no matter if I was in the right or wrong- it didn’t matter to Char.
“She loved me and I loved her, we were always together.”
“She also had the most amazing laugh. People would make her laugh just so they could hear it, then they would laugh with her.”
Charlotte and Alan of Parish Lane, Penge got together on Christmas Day 2003.
Nearly five years later the pair decided to get married and the date was set for May 2 next year.
The 21-year-old already had her dress picked out.
Her mum, Patricia Sollis, of Crampton Road, Penge said: “Obviously we couldn’t give her the wedding she wanted. We will give her the best funeral.
“Charlotte was loving, she was caring. She thought about everybody else.
“Even when she bought presents she thought of ones that matched people’s personalities.”
The 44-year-old, who has two other daughters, Vicky, 24, and Samantha, 14, added: “Charlotte absolutely loved kids. Her and Alan wanted to start a family straight away.”
Charlotte had just finished a beauty and makeup course with her sister Vicky.
The former Cator Park School pupil was going to start a further beauty therapy course at Bromley College in January as she had hoped one day to open a shop and start a business.
Mother-of-one, Vicky, who discovered her second child was due on her sister’s wedding day in May, said: “She was a really strong person.
“She didn’t let things get her down.
“My last memory is that she was happy to know she was going to be an auntie again.”
On the night of the crash, Charlotte was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, where she died soon after.
Two others were taken to hospital but have now been discharged.
Another woman is still in hospital in a serious but stable condition, making steady progress.
Driver Luke Mort, 23, of Selby Road, Penge died at the scene. No one on the bus was injured.
Charlotte’s family and fiance say all are welcome at her funeral, preferably wearing something pink.
Social worker Patricia said: “Charlotte had loads of friends- she would want her life celebrated.”
There will be a service at Beckenham Crematorium, Elmers End Road on November 11 at 1.30pm.
Her wake will be held at Beckenham public hall, Grosvenor Place.
A poem by Charlotte’s father 44-year-old Len Simpson:
If you knew Charlotte you knew she was real,
The laughter she had you wanted to feel,
A tear for you today will always stay,
Until we're all together it will never go away,
This isn't goodbye this is see you soon,
We will be reunited one day very soon.
love daddy
