RESIDENTS in Bromley have contributed to a nationwide petition demanding equality for disabled people.
The charity Scope have organised the collection of signatures at their shops and hope to hand the 50,000 signature petition into 10 Downing Street on November 5.
More than 400 penned their names at the three stores in the borough which are in Bromley High Street, Beckenham High Street and Stations Square, Petts Wood.
The petition calls on the Government to ratify the UN Convention which protects the human rights of disabled people.
Scope retail divisional manager, David Dyson, said: "We are delighted that signatures from people in Bromley will be among those making their way to 10 Downing Street.”
The charity is also urging people to donate any objects including winter clothes to their shops.
