Rusthall 2-0 Lewisham Borough
LEWISHAM Borough succumbed to their third league defeat of the season at Jockey Farm, the home of Rusthall FC.
On a terrible pitch, and in even worse conditions, Borough started brightly enough and had much the better of the early exchanges.
Rico Harvey delayed a shot when it seemed to all he should have hit it earlier, Alex Okisor smashed a thunderous shot against the post and Mario Campbell shooting weakly wide with just the goalkeeper to beat.
Rusthall had their moments too, but they few and far between.
But they took one chance when a Dan Teeley punt up-field was charged down, giving Rusthall’s striker the simple task of side-footing into the net to break the deadlock.
Lewisham were determined to get back into the game after the break, but a well-taken counter attacking goal from defence by Rusthall sealed victory.
Borough made changes in a desperate bid to get back into the game, but it simply was not to be their day.
Lewisham Borough: Teeley, J. Campbell, Kamara, Hughes, Watkins, M. Campbell, D. Campbell, Murphy, Brown, A.Okisor, Harvey. Subs: Jones, Joslyn, Cech.
