AS FUNDRAISERS go, it could be quite confusing for a child looking forward to Christmas.
Greenwich and Bexley Cottage Hospice is hoping to gather as many Santas as possible in Bexleyheath next month, to try and break the world record.
People will pay £10 for adults and £5 for children aged five to 15 to take part.
They will get a Santa suit, complete with beard, to keep.
The event will also include live entertainment.
Cash raised will go to the hospice, which is encouraging, pubs, clubs, businesses and schools to enter teams.
The event takes place at 4pm on November 23 and the hospice will need around 13,000 Santas to break the current record.
An adjudicator from the Guinness Book of Records will be there to adjudicate.
The thousands of Father Christmases will then be able to count down to the switching on of Bexleyheath’s Christmas lights.
