East Thurrock United 3-0 Thamesmead Town Thamesmead's erratic form continued as they lost 3-0 away to East Thurrock united on a rain lashed evening in Essex.
The Mead were met by a well drilled and organised side who finished excellently, however they started well enough and gave as good as they got for the opening 15 minutes, but the conditions were making created chances hard to come by.
Early on, a slip by Coburn let Rocks in on goal, but fortunately Woodward was on hand and the shot was saved.
On 25 mins a long punt from Thurrock was chased down by a forward. Woodward came and had the ball in his hands, but the forward continued and with foot raised and smashed into the helpless goalkeeper. Amazingly the decision from the referee, was to signal play "advantage", as the keeper had the ball in his hands.
It was only when Woodward fell to the ground still clutching the ball and not moving, that the ref blew for a foul. The young keeper had to be carried from the field and was replaced by sub keeper, Conneally. For the rest of the half Mead were under pressure but reached half time goalless.
Thamesmead forced the game to on East Thurrock from the start of the second half, but they were well drilled and always seemed to have an outlet which quickly brought about a counter attack, the front two working well together.
Mead had no penetration in the area and so it was no surprise when a swift counter attack, with a great cross from the left allowed Kris Newby to score the opening goal on 53 mins.
Soon after the restart a through ball put Wood in with a chance on goal for The Mead, but the shot was weak and caused no trouble.
On 66 minutes another cross from the left found Newby again, who finished clinically for the Rocks second goal.
Surprisingly Mead now got on top, and created, from passing, three good chances but Smith and Cable, could not get a shot on target.
On 78 minutes Martin Llewellyn made it 3-0, with yet another cross cross from the left, that he took beautifully on the run, around the keeper and into the net.
Mead must now re-group for the visit to Leyton on Saturday.
