TWO CARJACKERS were left red-faced after a motorist drove away when they threatened him with a knife in Northfleet.
The 66-year-old driver was waiting at a traffic lights in The Hill, Northfleet when a car pulled in front of him and stopped.
Two men in their late thirties got out of the car and walked towards the blue Ford Fiesta, which the motorist, who is from the Meopham area, was driving.
One of the men pulled out a knife and demanded he hand over the courtesy car.
But he quickly drove around the car parked in front and headed straight back to the hire company where he called the police.
Police believe the carjackers could be Eastern European.
Both men had dark, short, curly hair and wore grey sweatshirts and blue trousers.
Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Andy Lambert would like to hear from anyone with information about the incident which happened at about 12.30pm on October 22.
Police would particularly like to trace the occupants of a black 4 x 4 vehicle, which was also at the traffic lights at the time.
