POLICE are appealing for information following an assault that left a 20-year-old man needing eye surgery.
The victim, who is from Dartford, was driving along Rochester Way at around 11.45pm on October 1 when a metal pole was hurled through the windshield, striking him in the face.
This caused a severe injury to one of his eyes and he had to undergo surgery at a hospital in London. Fortunately he was not blinded.
Investigating police have exhausted a number of leads and now hope someone who was in the area at the time can provide information.
Detective Constable Sarah Myers said: “At this time of night it is fairly quiet in Rochester Way but there is a chance that someone who was passing saw something which could prove to be vital to the investigation.
“This was a very nasty and apparently unprovoked attack which left a young man with a horrific injury. We need to find the person responsible.”
The victim was travelling in a silver-grey coloured Vauxhall Corsa car at the time of the assault.
