BROMLEY Friends of the Earth has been calling on the Government to stick to its carbon emission targets.
The environmentalists held a demonstration in Bromley High Street asking people to send postcards to their MP insisting they vote in favour of the Climate Change Bill, which proposes Britain reduce its carbon emissions by 80 per cent by 2050.
Shoppers showed their support with around 200 people signing a cardboard wall.
MPs will vote on the bill tonight (Oct 28).
Bromley Friends of the Earth secretary Ray Watson said: “We were delighted at the positive response from people.
“This indicates that the argument on whether carbon emissions need to be reduced has been won.”
