CHILDREN at a school have spent a day practising their maths skills by solving tricky number puzzles.

All 210 pupils at Castlecombe Primary School, Castlecombe Road, Mottingham had a Puzzle Challenge Day where they did 3-D puzzles and games.

The children, aged between five and 11, worked in groups and completed jigsaw maps, which they had to put together within a certain time.

Maths teacher Rebecca Farr said: “This was an opportunity to give pupils a highly interactive journey through the world of puzzles and challenges, while developing their maths, thinking skills and team skills.

“They had a very enjoyable day.”
