A GRAVESEND pub has been closed following a string of complaints about noise, nuisance and rowdy behaviour.
The Trocadero in Windmill Street remained shut yesterday (October 24) after the licensee left the premises, by mutual agreement.
This followed an earlier meeting with the police, Gravesham Borough Council and the pub’s owners, Swan Inns.
It is the first time a Gravesend pub has been closed due to such complaints.
Police were called to 15 separate incidents of disorder or related offences at The Trocadero in the last 10 weeks.
Sergeant Graham James from Kent police's licensing department said: "We had become aware of numerous breaches of the Licensing Act at these premises.
“And we received a number of complaints from both business and shoppers about the behaviour of those who were drinking at the Trocadero.
The pub could reopen early next month pending a meeting with a new licensee.
