A GROUP of teenagers who dragged an attacker off a 57-year-old man are being urged to contact the police.
The victim was walking past St George’s School in New House Lane, Gravesend, with his wife just after midnight on October 5 when a man approached and assaulted him.
He was pushed to the ground and repeatedly kicked and punched, leaving him with a swollen and cut eye.
The attack only stopped when a group of five teenage boys and girls dragged the attacker away.
Detective Constable David Canning, who is investigating the attack, said: “This appears to have been a completely unprovoked assault and it is possible that those who came to the aid of the victim knew the attacker. I would ask that they get in touch.”
To help police with their inquiries contact Det Con Canning on 01474 366516 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
